Filters
It is essential to have a filter on all electronic devices, without any exception, including work-issued devices. It is strongly advised to avoid looking at inappropriate content on work electronics. Fortunately, there are many excellent filters available in the market. Personally, I use BlockerX (Premium Lifetime), which offers a filter for my portable electronics and a Chrome plug-in for my laptop and computer. I have been using BlockerX.
BlockerX is considered an excellent filter for several reasons. Firstly, it provides strong and reliable protection against offensive content, allowing users to browse the internet without worrying about adult or inappropriate content. Secondly, it offers advanced settings that give users complete control over the type of content they want to block or allow. Users can choose from a wide range of categories, including social media, gambling, pornography, and more, to tailor the filter to their specific needs. Additionally, it can block ads and pop-ups, which helps to reduce distractions and speed up page load times. Lastly, BlockerX has a user-friendly interface makes it easy to install, configure, and manage, allowing users a hassle-free browsing experience. All these factors combined make BlockerX an excellent choice for anyone looking for a reliable content-filtering solution.
The other filter I have is Open DNS. First, it is free, it is also a network-level filter. So any electronics plugged into your home network will be filtered. So if you have an X-Box, Nintendo, a firestick, or any other item that gets internet via Wi-Fi or network cable it will filter it. All you have to do is change the incoming DNS (Domain Name Servers) on your home router. The one I use is the OpenDNS Family Shield They already have it set up for blocking porn.
Also, the page this takes you to has instructions for you to follow.
Now, none of this is going to work for you without help. If you have the passwords to the filter or your network, you can override it. Remember what I said in the beginning, Your Will-Power will fail you. So, you must reach out for help and find someone you trust and can confide in.
Believe it or not, my daughter holds my passwords. Think about it for a minute: my daughter holds my passwords. So, if I fail, she will know, and I will not do that to her, my wife, or my son. Yes, they all are fully aware of my past struggle, so I have filters on all my devices. I have a fantastic relationship with my wife, daughter, and son; they all were involved in my past recovery and are still involved in my abstinence. I’m getting ahead of myself. My point is you need someone you trust to help you.
